Knowing Looks is the moniker of one Jason Hopfner. Born in Winnipeg and raised in the hotbed of electronic music culture, Regina in Saskatchewan and now resides in Toronto after extended tours of duty in Europe and the Middle East. When not driving dilapidated cars through former Soviet republics or recording the screams of D-list celebrities being eviscerated, Mr Looks spends his time with his first love of music.
This project is a tribute to all the music that plays incessantly and simultaneously in his head, attempting to channel these sounds into something for more than his party of one. If you mixed the mid's and hi's of soft rock, AM radio, fusion jazz, low budget soundtracks, and delete bin records - with the low's of detroit/german house and minimalism, filtered it through a case of ADD and presented it irony free, you should end up with a pile of shite, but luckily in this instance you’re presented the wonderful world of Knowing Looks!
